Stratasys strengthens Mindful Manufacturing with its first sustainability report.

Stratasys started its sustainability journey a little over a year ago, setting its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and pillars under the concept of Mindful Manufacturing™, defining our UN Sustainable Development Goals, and ensuring the full engagement of our global teams and top management. Our initial efforts have taken form and the passion that powers our impact, day-to-day, fills me with pride.

As the leading polymer 3D printing solutions provider, we have what it takes to make a real impact on the world’s most pressing challenges: from much-needed climate action to social impact. Our scope and scale of activity is broad. We are rallying our partners and customers around our purpose: to empower people to create unlimited for an economical, personalized and sustainable future. We are committed to partnerships that take real-life use cases from industries such as aerospace, automotive, healthcare, and consumer products, and redesign them more sustainably.

Today, I’m proud to share that Stratasys has published its first ESG & Sustainability Report. It sets important baselines – a demonstration of our commitment to measure, report and improve on our operations and activity, expanding this work every year. It’s such an honor to lead this effort.

Dr. Yoav Zeif, our CEO, is a passionate promoter of “doing good”, knowing it’s also good for business. We are growing, and we want to ensure our foundations are built on important ESG values: transparency, ‘people first’, social impact, renewable energy, responsible production and consumption, quality education, industry innovation, and climate action.

There is more to do to demonstrate where additive manufacturing can have the most benefits, reducing carbon footprints and unnecessary waste. In particular,  our industry needs more data.  We’ve seen the benefits from our customers.  Train operators are 3D printing spare parts instead of holding inventories that can become obsolete, reducing waste. Militaries are printing parts at the point of need, reducing the risks and carbon footprints of lengthy supply chains.  Consumer goods manufacturers are printing final parts instead of creating molds and tools, reducing costs and waste. Many customers are using  advanced ‘Design for Additive Manufacturing’ (DfAM) capabilities to create products with unique geometries that are lighter and more durable that traditionally manufactured ones. It’s mind blowing to me.

This work is deep and meaningful. We’re working to better quantify these impacts. We will leave no stone unturned as we look at our business from every angle: from processes to products; from materials to hardware; from our own to consumption to that of our global network and installed base. It’s time to make things better.

We invite you to join us this journey. Adopt 3D printing. Understand its impact across the entire product lifecycle. Help us reduce waste and the exploitation of natural resources.  Our technology is game-changing on many levels. Now, let’s come together to ensure we improve where we can so together we 3D Print a Better Tomorrow™.
